I was frustrated when my decals weren’t sticking to the ends as expected. Every time I tried to place them, they would roll up again. My family member suggested using a hairdryer to heat up the areas that weren’t sticking, and that did the trick. I guess I had too-high expectations thinking they’d stick to painted steps – lesson learned!

Let’s get that stair set up nice and easy! First thing’s first, find the center of your stairs and measure the left side and lip. Then starting at the corner, slowly peel off the backing sheet. Once you’ve done that, put a light pressure on the bottom left corner with your thumb to adhere it in place. Keeping the top left corner lined up with the front lip, press down the right corner. Work your way from the middle outwards to the left side and finally the right. When you’re finished, do a little dance on the mat to make sure it’s totally flat and sealed. Now your stairs have never looked so good!

Installing these stairs in my shed was a breeze! I simply left them flat on the ground with some weight on them for three days to flatten them out – and that was it. Now they have great adhesion and provide a nice grip when I’m walking on them. Even better, the stairs are slightly steep so I feel much more secure when coming down them. Our dogs also love them – they have no troubles navigating the stairs! Highly recommend these – 10/10.

Removing the backing was quite tricky as it tended to tear easily. I thought the adhesive would be great, but after only two days it started curling up in the corners. The texture was the biggest disappointment though, as it felt just fine with shoes on but wasn’t comfortable for socks, bare feet, or little paws. All in all, I wouldn’t purchase this product again.

We recently installed grippy treads to our painted wooden stairs, leading down to the basement. The stairs were really slippery and we needed something to make it easier for our dogs to get down there during bad weather. These treads have been a total lifesaver! They feel really nice and grippy – not that I’d want to go barefoot on them though… I can confidently say I feel much steadier now when I’m heading down the stairs. The treads came in rolls, with sticker-like backing. I must admit, the hardest part was getting the backing off – but I eventually managed to get all 12 attached within an hour! Our clumsy 100lb dogs have scratched them a bit already, so obviously regular use for humans may cause some wear and tear. As of yet, there’s no sign of any peeling. We try not to get the stairs wet, so hopefully they stay well-adhered.

We put these up on our outdoor side stairs that don’t get much traffic. After just four or five months, we noticed them curling up and gradually coming off. No worry though – when we applied them, the stairs were nice and clean. And they were super easy to install! Plus, the texture and thickness of these are great.

I was pretty disappointed that these decals started peeling off my stairs within two days of application – especially considering how easy they were to apply! I had made sure to clean the surfaces before applying them, so I’m not sure what went wrong. On a positive note, the quality of the decals themselves was pretty good.

Though they don’t quite fit my desired aesthetic, the texture and design resemble that of a skateboard platform – so you know you’re getting great quality at an unbeatable price. Unfortunately, I now realize I should have made a different design choice for the stairs leading to my basement. Still, these’ll do the trick!

I had a great experience with these. I first used alcohol to clean each step, then used a roller to get good adhesive contact. I did get some air bubbles, but I managed to squeeze them out with the help of a pick and roller. To finish off, I put a 25 pound block of steel on top, although you can use anything really. If your stairs have open front risers, you could even use a piece of wood with a strip of rammer and clamps – it’ll do the job perfectly! Before I installed this synthetic wood, the stairs were just plain old painted wood. But now they look so much better! Plus, I don’t have to worry about slipping anymore – I had fallen a couple of times with wet boots on and almost broke my ankle!
