These stair grips are just as described—individual sheets rolled up in a box. They’re about 80 grit sandpaper. The adhesive works really well, though once it’s down, there’s no going back. We need something on the stairs to keep us safe and so far, no one has tripped on them. Our pups have gotten used to them (although they don’t love them!) and can still make their way up and down without too much trouble. The only reason I’m not giving them five stars is because I think they should come with a placement template and some directions. But that’s just my opinion!

To fix the problem, we scrubbed the steps with a mixture of water and bleach, then added the strips. Initially, the edges came up but they’ve stuck like glue now. Best part? Confused? I sure was. I ordered a 4″ x 35′ roll, which is exactly what I got. But here’s my review to help you out.
I’ve got an outdoor shower with a pressure-treated decking flooring. Over time, it’s gotten a bit of a greenish hue from fungi and can be pretty slippery when wet. To fix this, I really needed something that isn’t too wide and the 4″ roll did the trick. I laid it down this weekend and it held on nicely to the planks – phew! I can now take a shower worry-free. Not sure how the adhesive will hold up over time, so if it starts to peel off, I can use some staples to secure it.

Unfortunately, when a person using a walker pushed over them, it tore up half of the ramp and ripped the rest off completely. These traction strips are pretty thin – they’re definitely not carpet strips. The pictures in the listing show them installed on indoor wooden stairs, which wouldn’t really work due to their strength – it’d be like putting heavy duty sandpaper on your steps. But if you need some grip for outdoor surfaces or stairs, these are perfect. The adhesive on the back is strong and they’re easy to apply. I’ve used them on steel steps in a garage, so I have nice traction even when my shoes are wet. So, for outdoor stairs and surfaces, I totally recommend these strips – 5 stars! My stairs needed a bit of safety help, especially when they’re wet. That’s why I got these anti-slip stair treads – they come pre-cut and with nicely rounded corners, so all I had to do was peel and stick. I cleaned my wooden steps and blew them off with a leaf blower just to get rid of all the dust and dirt. Then I carefully peeled off the backing and placed the treads down. Doesn’t hurt to be careful! To make sure everything was stuck down well, I walked back and forth across the treads with flat shoes. Now I’m just waiting for the rainy season to see how it holds up. If there are any problems, I’ll be sure to let you know!

Wow, what an awesome deal for such a great upgrade! These don’t have to be used just on stairs – they can be used all over the house. I use my laundry tub a lot and the floor gets really wet; the drainage is great but while it’s wet, it’s nice to have one of these around instead of a rug that takes forever to dry. When the weather warms up, I’m planning on putting a couple of these in my garage (where I spend a lot of time on my feet) and a couple of other areas outside. They’re just brilliant and made from really nice materials too. The texture is like a fine-to-medium sandpaper – not too course.

I was in desperate need of some extra grip on my wooden staircase, especially on rainy days. So I got the pre-cut anti slip black tape stair treads and they were perfect! Installing them was a breeze – all I had to do was give my stairs a quick clean and sanding to get them nice and ready for the treads to stick. My only issue is that they can be tricky to keep clean – things like dandelion fluff tend to stick to it. But other than that, they work really well!

The shear cutting the paper wasn’t the best, leaving torn edges on some sheets. One was so bad I had to throw it away! Thankfully, rolling or folding the paper as I removed the adhesive helped remove the last two sheets without having to use a knife. The grit of the product seems decent and keeps its adhesion, but you have to wait 24 hours before walking on it – something to keep in mind. The 8 pieces come in a 3.5×3.5 box, 6 inches deep, so unrolling each one to lay it flat for backing removal took some time.

Plus, installing it was a breeze and we didn’t even need any instructions!
We tested it out on our hardwood floors and it works great – no slipping or sliding out of place. Even after some windy conditions, the tape on the patio held up nicely. All things considered, it’s great value for money, so we would definitely recommend it!

These treads are awesome – no lifting required! They have a super rough surface that gives you fantastic grip, so you can feel safe and secure when walking. I’d definitely suggest you begin by carefully peeling the edges of each tread while sitting down – small job, big reward! There’s no shortcut, but it’s not too difficult either. Give yourself a tiny break by pulling away the paper covering to give you a better view when you’re outside laying them down. These treads are incredibly sticky, so once you start placing them you’ll find it hard to adjust them.

Don’t let the image fool you – these feel and look like really coarse sandpaper with a sticky backing. Personally, I wouldn’t want them on my hardwood stairs or anywhere inside my house that needs to look nice! I ended up putting them on my basement and garage steps, but they didn’t stick so well on an unfinished surface (like the garage steps) and had already come off around the edges after just a few weeks. Not sure how you can clean something that feels like sandpaper – towels simply came off and got caught in the rough texture, and vacuuming didn’t do the trick either. I’d be more impressed if they had some extra thickness or cushion to them, but it looks like these are made more for industrial use, not home use as advertised.

For best results, do this late summer, but stay away from hot days – the adhesive will melt if the steps get too hot. When I had to replace one of them, it took off most of the paint too, so I learned the hard way to repaint the area before slapping on a new strip.

I’ve been using these treads on my steps for five years now, and I absolutely love them. They’re really easy to put on; you just peel off the backing and stick them right on your step. I love how affordable they are, and they usually last me around 4-6 months, depending on weather and usage of the steps. When they start to wear – like when they don’t stick the way they used to or split apart a bit – I just take the old one off and replace it with a new one. So simple!
I’m giving them a try on our painted concrete steps next, and I’m sure they’ll work just as well. The only thing to watch out for is that you make sure each tread looks even from step to step. To help with this, I marked each step with a pencil to show the left and right edge on every step.
Overall, these treads look great and do provide good grip. Highly recommended!
